Travel Funding Assistance for the Copper 2007 Conference




GORDON M. RITCEY AWARD 2006


To encourage graduate studies in the field of hydrometallurgy, the Hydrometallurgy Section of the Metallurgical Society of CIM offers one (1) award of $3000.00 to honour the accomplishments of a graduate student in the field of hydrometallurgy in a Canadian university.

Applications must include:

    1) A copy of the applicant’s academic transcripts
    2) A summary of the project, including preliminary results, a discussion concerning subsequent project orientation, and a list of prepared publications or conference presentations (2-3 pages maximum)


To be eligible the candidate should be registered in a graduate program in the field of hydrometallurgy during the entire 2005/2006 academic year in a Canadian University. Applications should be mailed prior to 31 July 2006 to:

TRAVEL FUNDING ASSISTANCE


COPPER 2007
37th Annual Hydrometallurgy Meeting
Toronto, Canada
August 25-30, 2007

The Hydrometallurgy Section can provide travel funding for graduate students in the field of Hydrometallurgy wishing to attend this conference. The funding is calculated according to the following formula:

    1) $100.00 per 1000 km from the destination
    2) $50.00 per day for lodging and food
    3) $200.00 to attend a short-course on Hydrometallurgy

Maximum funding is $600.00 per student.

The application should include:

  1. A summary of the student’s research project
  2. A letter of support from his/her thesis supervisor


To be eligible, students should be registered in a Canadian university at the time of the conference, in a Masters or PhD program related to the field of Hydrometallurgy. Applications should be sent prior to 30 June 2007 to:
